Unpacking My Griefcase: 5 Day DevotionalSample

Day 4: Cherishing What Remains
In grief, focusing only on what was lost is natural. But there is still beauty in what remains. Unpacking your grief-case also means rediscovering the treasures—memories, lessons, and love—that grief cannot take away.
Grief has a way of blinding us to the beauty that still exists. It can feel like everything is lost, but Isaiah 61:3 reveals God’s ability to transform sorrow into something meaningful. He doesn’t minimize your pain, but He promises to bring beauty even from the ashes. Cherishing what remains helps you honor your loss while embracing God’s redemptive power.
Action Step: Write down one positive memory or lesson that has come from your loss. Take a moment to thank God for it.
Prayer: Lord, even in my sorrow, thank You for the beauty and hope that remain. Help me to see these blessings clearly. Amen.
