Day 3: Releasing Bitterness and Choosing Forgiveness

Bitterness often stems from unresolved hurt, disappointment, or anger. It's an emotional response to feeling wronged or experiencing unmet expectations, and it can take root in the heart when these feelings are not addressed or healed. Over time, bitterness can grow, affecting our relationships, attitudes, and even spiritual well-being.

Scripture to Meditate On:
“Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.”
— Ephesians 4:31-32

Reflection:
Unresolved disappointment can turn into bitterness, but God calls us to forgive, just as He forgave us. Forgiveness doesn’t mean forgetting, but it means releasing the hold that the offense has on your heart.

Practical Application:

1. Identify anyone or anything that may have contributed to your disappointment.
2. Pray for the strength to forgive and release bitterness, even if it’s yourself.
