Soul Care: Healing From Deep DisappointmentSample

Day 2: Trusting God’s Plans Over Our Expectations
Misplaced trust occurs when we place our confidence, reliance, or expectations in things or people that are not capable of meeting those needs, ultimately leading to disappointment or hurt. It often stems from good intentions but reflects a misunderstanding of human limitations or the transient nature of worldly things.
Scripture to Meditate On:
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
— Jeremiah 29:11
Reflection:
Disappointment often arises when our plans don’t align with God’s. Trusting His plans requires faith that He has a greater purpose, even when it’s hard to see.
Practical Application:
- Reflect on a time when something didn’t go your way but later worked out for your good.
- Write a prayer surrendering your expectations to God and declaring trust in His plans.
