Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year OneSample

Men have not heard nor perceived by the ear, nor has the eye seen any God besides You, who acts for the one who waits for Him (Isaiah 64:4).
Are you waiting upon the Lord, who acts for you?
David, a man after God's own heart, tells himself, "My soul, wait silently for God alone, for my expectation is from Him" (Psalm 62:5). It is difficult for us not to take matters into our own hands. For this reason we need to be reminded, "Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God" (Philippians 4:6). God strengthens those who wait upon Him. Isaiah writes, "But those who wait on the LORD shall renew their strength" (Isaiah 40:31). Since God is working together all things for our good (Romans 8:28), we need to wait upon Him to work in our behalf.
Employment Point: Wait upon the Lord, knowing that He acts for you.
About this Plan

Devotions on F.I.R.E. journeys through the Bible in one year. Each day includes a devotion based on Dr. Burge’s F.I.R.E. method of Bible Study. F.I.R.E. stands for Familiarity, Interpretation, Relationship, and Employment. The F.I.R.E. method and the daily devotions helps readers remember and apply what they read as they fuel the fire in their hearts for God’s Word.
