Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year OneSample

Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day (2 Corinthians 4:16).
How do you continue serving the Lord in spite of many afflictions?
We are ministers of the new covenant (2 Corinthians 3:6). With the heavenly assignment comes opposition from Satan. Paul endures temporal adversity for serving the Lord; however, he compares it with eternity: “For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory” (2 Corinthians 4:17). Ponder Paul’s difficulties (2 Corinthians 11:16-33). Yet he calls them a “light affliction.” How does he arrive at this conclusion? The great apostle gives the answer in Romans 8:18, “For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.”
Employment Point: Endure all things for Jesus by having an eternal perspective.
