Blueprints for Biblical Leadership

DAY 1 OF 5

Paul, the author of 1 Timothy, was an amazing leader and change-maker for the kingdom. He was passionate about helping the next generation continue to lead others in a way that honored the Lord. Paul specifically wrote these pieces of Scripture to help teach Timothy how to pick up the reigns and continue the work that Paul had started. Christians today oftentimes use this book as a blueprint of sorts for learning how to be a biblical leader.

By building our spiritual foundations upon the examples laid out in the book of 1 Timothy, we begin to see the impact that servant leadership, integrity, and leading by example can have on us as we begin to lead others. There truly is so much we can learn from following both Paul's and Timothy’s examples. And that’s exactly what we are going to do over the next few days.

In this series we will be exploring the questions: What is a biblical leader and how are they different than other leaders? Why should I become a leader? And how does God want me to lead? All of the answers to these questions can be found in the book of 1 Timothy. The world gives us examples of poor leadership every day—arrogance, power, belittling others, and chasing clout. It’s everywhere—on social media, on TV, and playing out in front of us in our real lives. But God calls us to something more regarding leading His people. He calls us to love one another, to lead with humility and compassion, to remain accountable to a higher standard than the ones set by the world, and to never stop learning.

So, settle in and get ready as we begin to study what it looks like to lead others well while honoring God in the process!
