Kendrea & The Dream Thief Sample

Kendrea & The Dream Thief

DAY 1 OF 7

“GOD SEES AND KNOWS ALL” It's the third day of school and Kendrea looks and sees how Mrs. Morrisa congratulates the students who know their alphabets and numbers but is harsh towards those who do not. Just yesterday Mrs. Morrisa told Hicks to stand up in front of the chalkboard and spell a word that had the letter "A" in it. He spitted out the letters M.E.A.N., I guess that was his way of letting the teacher know her behavior wasn’t nice. On another occasion, Mrs. Morrisa told Nicole to write the numbers 8-14-13 one hundred times because she didn’t put that days' date on her homework. And now, Honee for three days has cried in the restroom because she thinks she will never learn how to subtract. Mrs. Morrisa always yells and taps her ruler hard on Honee's desk when she gets a subtraction problem wrong. I'm starting to think maybe Hicks is right, Mrs. Morrisa is M.E.A.N. After all, we just started second grade on Monday. Devotional As God's children, our behavior means a great deal to him, especially when we are going through challenging times with people who are M.E.A.N., difficult and fussy. God wants all of his children to depend on him in challenging times, he knows what we are going through and most importantly he knows how to fix our problems and change the heart of those who treat his children unfairly, unkind and harshly. As God's children, we sometimes forget how he wants us to act and instead of waiting on God, we take matters into our own hands; this might include us "getting even" with those who embarrass us, or making up in our mind we are going to "set someone straight". Take Hicks and Mrs. Morrisa for example, instead of Hicks depending on God to correct Mrs. Morrisa for her harsh teaching, Hicks decided he would "set Mrs. Morrisa straight" with his response to her question. This is a perfect example on how God DOESN'T want his children to behave. Just like we don’t like it when people mistreat us, our family and our friends, God doesn’t like it either and if we are to become like Christ we must do what he did when he also was mistreated; that is "leave our cares in God's hands who always judges fairly". In summary, always remember that God sees all and knows all.
