Love One Another

Because the Bible teaches that human beings are made in God’s image, we are to respect the position of each individual under God. This text does not teach that we believers should think of ourselves as worthless or insignificant beings, but rather that we should give to one another the care each one needs. Possession of different talents or gifts does not denote differences in worth, for all belong to the one body and to one another. Furthermore, all are interdependent (Rom. 12:4, 5).

To think otherwise is to distort reality. When we question the worth of any other part of Christ’s body, we are opening ourselves up to the folly of questioning the Most High. While none of us are perfect, the Lord has placed each of us where He wants us, and we can rest in that knowledge (1 Cor. 12:18).

Let us not devalue the ministry and place of one another by thinking of ourselves more highly than we should, but let us live as brothers. Each individual has intrinsic value and worth, and we are all equal before God and in Christ.
