Bible Explorer for the Young (Titus & Philemon)

DAY 1 OF 3

Be Pure, Not Polluted

Titus 1:15a

To people who are pure, everything is pure. But to those who are full of sin and don’t believe, nothing is pure.

According to the dictionary, pure means not contaminated, not mixed with any other substance. A pure person means without evil intent; honest; sincere.

The water inside a sealed bottle is pure but when you add some sand into it, it becomes polluted and no longer pure. Being polluted or contaminated is the opposite of being pure. Polluted water is harmful to health because there’s some unsafe material in it.

God wants our hearts to stay pure like the water inside the sealed bottle. If we fill our hearts and minds with sinful thoughts and worldly desires, we become like the polluted bottle of water with sand.

As we keep our hearts and minds pure, we will be able to see and understand God’s will that is written in the Bible. We will understand why God loves us and how much He loves us. We will not want to dwell in sins or let sins pollute us.

This way, we can see and feel God in our lives. As we feel His love and His presence daily, our hearts will always be filled with praise and thankfulness to Him.

Prayer

Dear God, make my heart pure and clear from any wickedness so that I can always see and feel Your presence and love. Amen.
