One Voice – Reflect, Pray, ActSample

Micah's challenge in 6:8 comes after the prophet has posed a vital question: Should he opt for impressive sacrifices or flashy displays? No. What the Lord calls for is far less of a spectacle. These three verbs - act, love, walk - cover a multitude of expressions, a huge and dynamic array of possibilities. Our worship, whether in song or action, in church or beyond it, cannot be without the three essentials of justice, mercy and humility. If we cut them out, our faith will be horribly thin and dangerously weak. Father God you have not let go, despite the injustice that we see in the world. You never fail and you never grow tired of our prayers. We thank you for your patience and the way you weave us together with your plans, we thank you for choosing to use us. Thank you that the Kingdom of God is open to us and that we have a part to play. Show us what you would have each of us do, confirm to each of us, in our hearts and minds, the tasks that you have already given us. Recognizing that each one of us is part of the Body of Christ we pray for the work of the church at home and in the communities in which we are working.
