The Wise Guys are the wise men who followed a star to find Jesus. They brought with them gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh. You may think these are strange gifts to bring for a baby, why didn’t they bring baby toys?

We love to give gifts at Christmas time! I wonder what gift you would choose to give to a baby? Some babies don’t even care what’s inside the gift, they just love to rip the paper off, take the toy out and then play with the box instead.

The gifts the wise men brought weren’t like the toys we give to babies. The gifts they brought were the type of presents that people would bring to a very important person or even royalty. These gifts probably helped Mary and Joseph to look after Jesus and the rest of their family when they had to flee to Egypt to escape Herod.
