Love God Greatly: Growing Through PrayerSample
SOAP – 1 Timothy 2:8
Paul writes to Timothy in this passage some instructions for public worship and prayer in the church. Paul’s desire is that prayer would be a priority in the life of every believer. The service and action of a believer’s hands should be surrendered fully to God. A believer’s prayers to the Lord should not be tainted with anger or doubt. Therefore, in prayer, a believer’s words, actions, and motives should all be completely aligned and fully surrendered to God.
What priority does prayer have in your life? Have you fully surrendered your service and your motives to the Lord? Will you begin today to allow the Lord to transform your prayer life into one that fully glorifies Him?
Father God, I thank You for the privilege and honor of being able to speak to You at any time and anywhere. Lord, transform my prayer life so that there is no contradiction between you’re your Word says and what I say. Lord, cleanse my heart so that personal fleshly motives do not creep into my prayers to You. Remind me, Lord, that whatever I ask and whatever I do, whether good or bad, reflects You. I thank You, Lord, for Your grace and mercy. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
