DAY 26 OF 50

A Chip Off the Old Block

And I have filled him with the Spirit of God, in wisdom and ability, in understanding and intelligence, and in knowledge, and in all kinds of craftsmanship, to devise skillful works, to work in gold, and in silver, and in bronze, ... Exodus 31:3-4 AMPC

“And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. ..." (Genesis 1:32 KJV) This is how the Bible summarizes the week of creation. God concludes His creation work by surveying and reviewing all of it, and coming to the conclusion that it was all very good.

Now, part of God's creation was mankind and in making us, He made us in His own image and likeness. Essentially, God made man from His own 'DNA' - He made us like Himself. Now if this is true (and it is), it implies that we ought to be like our Maker. The outcome of His creative work was declared good, and so anything less than good will not be an acceptable outcome for our own work.

This is evident in the quality of work that Bezaleel and Aholiab (Exodus 31) turn out when God put His Spirit in them. For it is recorded that, “ Moses inspected all the work, and behold, they had done it; as the Lord had commanded, so had they done it. ...." (Exodus 39:43 AMPC)

The critical thing to focus on here is that God declared that He had put His Spirit inside Bezaleel and Aholiab. While folks under the old covenant got an occasional anointing, those of us who have been redeemed by grace have a permanent anointing. It stands to reason then that the demand for excellence in our work should be greater for “... everyone to whom much is given, of him shall much be required; ...” (Luke 12:48 AMPC)

Not only do we have the indwelling Spirit of God, but the Bible also says we have the mind of Christ (1 Corinthians 2:16). As we dwell on the “deep things of God” (1 Corinthians 2:11) explained by the Holy Spirit, our minds become renewed and progressively assume the dimensions of the mind of Christ, for as we “behold [in the Word of God] as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are constantly being transfigured into His very own image ...” (2 Corinthians 3:18 AMPC)

Knowing all these, what sort of products should your business create?
