Hollywood Prayer Network On Pride

DAY 7 OF 7

GOD IS PROUD OF YOU

“At the end of the day, everything is God's plan, and he cares about what we do. He cares about our hearts, how we play the game, and how we treat people. He's definitely involved with how we handle sports and not just the outcome of it. I'm proud when athletes mention God in any way.” Tim Tebow

PRAY:  Dear Lord, just as Paul loved the Corinthians and was proud of them, I want You to be proud of me and my family! I want You to be greatly encouraged by me and that I can show people the proof of Your love for me. Help me to be a good Ambassador so that people can see You in me and You can be proud of me. I love You, Lord. Amen and Amen

REFLECT: We all want to hear the words, "I'm proud of you!" That fills up our hearts and our souls. Paul was very generous with his words of praise when he felt that people needed to hear them. In fact, he was so proud of the Corinthians that he said it didn't even matter what he has suffered, his pride in them superseded anything that he had to go through to see them grow in their relationship with Jesus. He said: "I take great pride in you. I am greatly encouraged; in all our troubles my joy knows no bounds." Can people say that about you today? Are you living a life that makes other people proud? If not, what can you do to change your reputation? Live a life that not only Jesus and Paul would be proud of, but also your mom, your spouse, your children, your neighbors, friends, and co-workers would be proud of. Having pride in another person is beautiful. Having pride in yourself is destructive. What kind of life are you living?

ACT:  Pride is the hardest thing to see in ourselves and the easiest thing to see in other people. Every time you see or talk to a prideful person, instead of judging them, quickly look into yourself and ask the Lord to reveal to you any pride in you. If we see it in others, it also has to be in ourselves. Right now, choose one area in your life about which you are too prideful. Define it, choose to do something about it and then take steps to change. If you tackle one area of your life right now and pull out the pride, you are on a path to having your friends, family members, and co-workers proud to know you! What a beautiful way to end your week. And God is proud of you!

We would love to hear from you!
