Receiving God's Love -Christmas Devotions

Day 1 of 5 • This day’s reading

It’s so easy to lose sight of the real gift that we celebrate at Christmas - the gift of a Savior who LOVES us unconditionally and promises to never leave or forsake us. As you experience this busy Christmas season, give yourself the gift of receiving God’s gift of love each and every day!

As we learn to give and receive it, all the other cares of this world will fall away. When love is the foundation of all we do, the Holy Spirit will strip everything else away—even the excess weight. What will be left is a life of gratitude, peace, joy, and love rooted in a wonderful relationship with our heavenly Father.

“Let all that you do be done in love.” 1 Corinthians 16:14

What the Scriptures say about God’s Love:

God’s love is steadfast and unchanging ~ Psalms 136:26, Hebrews 13:8

God’s love transforms our lives ~ 2 Corinthians 3:18, Ephesians 2:4-5

God’s love comforts us ~ Psalms 46:1

God’s love is revealed to us through Jesus Christ ~ Romans 5:8

God’s love gives us peace and joy ~ Philippians 4:7

God’s love is poured into us through the Holy Spirit ~ Romans 5:5

God’s love compels us to love one another ~ 2 Corinthians 5:14-15

The freedom we’re searching for in this life will only come from an understanding and acceptance of God’s overwhelming and steadfast love for us.

This devotion will run during the season of Advent. Your challenge is to spend 5-10 minutes each day receiving God’s love from His Word and then doing something kind for yourself.

Remember, you are loved lavishly by God!
