The books of Samuel show us that our ultimate trust is not in rulers who can conquer nations, but the foreshadowed Messiah who can conquer sins.

Every man is called by God to embrace his vulnerability and strive for connection; to fight and take ground in the sacred terrain of relationships. David’s life serves as a blueprint for men who urgently need to abandon isolation and the cultural lies of unhealthy individualism.
