I. What Does It Mean to Believe in God?
A. To truly believe in God means that one trusts in or clings to or adheres to God or relies on God rather than entrusting him-/her- self to to his/her own keeping.

2. True belief in God means that one will acknowledge his desperate need of Christ's righteousness to save them from the power of sin and from God's wrath.
a. Cf. Matt. 15:22-27
i. Though Jesus called the woman a dog, she takes the harsh language because she realizes her desperate need for what Christ has.
b. A practical measure of whether or not one believes on God is whether or not (s)he will accept even the crumbs of God.
i. Only one acknowledging their helpless state will accept whatever it is that God gives them.
c. A second practical measure of true belief on God is whether or not one wants to be helpful to the cause of Christ—loving the poor, the widowed, the immigrant, and the helpless.

B. One can believe in God without TRULY BELIEVING.

II. What Does It Mean for God to Believe in Us?
A. It means that God will love His creation, although He knows their sinful nature and their depravity.

B. Furthermore, it means that God will know us at the Day of Judgment.
