I. Have No Gods before Me
A. The phrase literally means that one should worship any other gods before the face of the one, true living God.

B. In the plagues of Egypt, God sent plagues that would reveal to the Egyptians their supposed God's were of no actuality.
II. What are Some Common Idols We Worship
G. Fraternities, or Social Groups
J. In reality, we hardly differ from the people of ancient times who served idol God's. Our's are just simply overlooked because we've grown so comfortable with idols.
K. "Whatever is esteemed or loved, feared or served, delighted in or depended on more than God, that whatever it is we do in effect make an idol of." — Matthew Henry
1. We as modern Americans often lay sacrifices at the altars of our Gods.
a. Children sacrificed for relationships or jobs
b. Justice or integrity for more money
c. Family and friends for notoriety from social groups
d. Ourselves for the stamp of physical approval
e. Money and family for the chance to be in the shadows of athletes
III. What is the Motivating Factor to Serve the One True Living God
A. He is THE LORD our God.
B. He has saved mankind numerous times—namely, the Egyptians from slavery to Pharaoh and mankind as a whole from slavery to self-addiction (sin).
