Encountering Jesusਨਮੂਨਾ

Day 3: How to See Jesus
“Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.” Matthew 5:8 (NIV)
So how do you see Jesus?
First of all, you must believe that you can see Him! Then, commit your imagination to Him. One of the greatest hurdles to hearing or seeing God is often your own mind. You might second-guess yourself or reason your way out of an encounter with Jesus. But friend, God created your imagination; it’s a beautiful part of how He designed you! And just as you surrender every other part of yourself, your heart, body, soul, and mind—you can surrender your imagination, too.
Let’s pray:
Lord, I thank You for my imagination. I want to commit it now to You, just as I commit every part of my body, soul, and spirit. Please take control of my imagination, and help me to see and believe as I step out in faith to encounter You. Amen.
Like all things in the Kingdom of God, seeing Jesus starts with faith. When you ask to see Him, you’ll most likely experience this in your spirit rather than with your physical eyes. And yes—it might feel like you’re “just imagining” things. But if your imagination is committed to Christ, and you’ve asked your heavenly Father to reveal Himself, trust that He is answering your prayer.
Jesus said:
“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened... If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask Him!”
Matthew 7:7-11 (NIV)
So believe, that’s always the first step in God’s Kingdom. Then, commit your time to Him in prayer and invite Him to show Himself to you.
Let’s pray again:
Lord, thank You that You are here with me. Thank You that You are always with me. I come to You today as Your child, asking You to show Yourself to me. Your Word says that You will come to me and that I will see You. I receive Your precious promises. I want to know You more, and I want to see You. Amen.
Now, as you settle into His presence, close your eyes. Ask the Holy Spirit to bring a memory to your mind. It might be a joyful memory, a painful one, or even something shameful. It could be from your childhood or from earlier today. Trust Him, He knows what you need.
Once that memory is clear, ask Jesus,
“Where were You?”
Because He was there. He is always with us.
Be still. Watch. Let the Holy Spirit guide you. When you see Him, pay attention:
- Where is He in the memory?
- What is He doing?
- What does He look like?
- What expression is on His face?
Let His presence wash over you. He may speak to you or simply be with you—but however He shows up, His love will meet you there. Thank Him. Linger in that sacred moment. And friend, don’t be surprised if your heart is deeply touched, even healed, by His nearness.
Tomorrow, we’ll explore how to continue seeing Jesus throughout your life, the importance of that daily encounter, and how to help your children experience His presence too.
You’re never alone: Jesus is near.
