You brought us into prison and laid burdens on our backs.

You brought us into the net; you laid a crushing burden on our backs

You captured us in your net and laid the burden of slavery on our backs.

You lured us into a trap; you placed burdens on our backs.

Thou broughtest us into the net; Thou laidst affliction upon our loins.

You brought us into the net; You laid affliction on our backs.

Bless our God, O peoples! Give him a thunderous welcome! Didn’t he set us on the road to life? Didn’t he keep us out of the ditch? He trained us first, passed us like silver through refining fires, Brought us into hardscrabble country, pushed us to our very limit, Road-tested us inside and out, took us to hell and back; Finally he brought us to this well-watered place.

You brought us into the net; You laid an oppressive burden upon us.

You brought us into the net; You laid a heavy burden [of servitude] on us.

You led us into a trap; you caused us to suffer.
