What is it to you?
Oh what marvelous being we are. You really can't disagree with that fact or can you?
As followers of Jesus, our main focus is what He wants us to do, not what He wants someone else to do, yet each of us will question His motives.
Well Lord you want me to do menial chores and you chose him to be a teacher! What gives? I can teach better them him/her!
Yes it might be true, you could be a better teacher them him/her, but that is not what the Lord wants you to do at this time. In fact He more interested in where your focus is than the ministry He gives us.
So what is to you? Peter was asked that when the Lord told him what will happen to him later. Instead of accepting what Jesus told him, he immediately asked the Lord "What about him?" Wrong answer!
each of us has a ministry to do! Each of has a service in which we are called to fulfill and our focus is not supposed to be on what is appointed to another brother or sister, but it is to follow the Lord and do what He tells us to do. Yet, many of us look towards the other and usually wined up in a pity party because of what others are called to do.
If you don't think that is a fact, I can tell you from experience that instead of focusing on what the Lord had me doing, I cried foul as another brother was picked to lead a ministry I once belong in.
Was it the right choice that the other was picked over me? Of course it was! I lost sight and the ministry I once was involved in meant more to me then what I was supposed to be doing.
I became so filled with anger and hurt, instead of being glad and supportive and keeping my focus on the Lord and doing what I was call to do and serve Him in the capacity He had me in.
The fact is we all lose sight and that is what we can call coveting, wanting what others have.
The bottom line here is that it does not matter what others are being called to do, it is what we are called to do and following Jesus.
So asked yourself, "What is it to you?"
If the it means more than following Jesus, then there is a problem.
Once again, each of are called to serve in different capacity's and it does not matter what another is called to do, our focus is to follow Jesus in what He wants us to do.
So do what you are suppose do with all your heart and be an example as Jesus was and still is. This even goes from church ministry to work. Do as you would do for God, because in reality, He is the one who has assigned us the jobs we have and He has place certain people over us as employers or supervisors. Are job is to do it right, because we are still performing what He has called us to do.
To conclude, don't worry about others, make sure you are doing and following the Lord, just as they have to do.
So what is it to you? It is to me to do what is right, focus on doing my work for the Lord, being an example at work, in the ministry or wherever you may be, because once you are known to be a Christian, all eyes are are watching you on how you act and perform.
