Stewardship is a life owed to GOD.
2. Brought (out of)
3. Market place
Jesus bought us and then brought us out of the marketplace of sin. Because of that we owe HIM a life.
The claims of the gospel will only be as effective as we let HIM be LORD of our lives.
It's effectiveness comes out of our loyalty to HIM.
The question is not what are we doing but what are we being?
Are we being what GOD expects right where we are.
I should always have a heart that wants what GOD wants.
We are willing to get along in the world, but we are not willing to help the world get along
1. People have a natural inclination toward self-centeredness
Task was to show GOD's lordship and Man's obedience
Adam's whole life was wrapped up in what he (Adam) thought that one tree could do for him that GOD couldn't
We think about money what Adam thought about the tree
We have to believe that tithing/giving will create a selfishness that cannot live in our hearts
Our giving/tithing will become a sense of loyalty instead of obligation.
Temptation is always there to let the means(money) become the end
And not the means to an end. It is only a matter of the heart that will make that work.
Nobody is ever too rich or too poor to obey GOD. It comes out of the heart.
Money should never be used to worry you Matt 6:25
Money should never be used to corrupt you Psalm 1:6
It is not to be hoarded Psalm 99:10-11
Money should never be used to build an ego James 1:10-11
Should not be used to satisfied every whim 1 Tim 6:6;8
Should never be used to put you in financial bondage
Strengthen our trust in GOD Matt 6:32-33
Money should develop in us trustworthiness Luke 16:11
When we get money it ought to prove to us how much GOD loves us
Money ought to unite Christians through Shared blessings
2 cor 8:14-15
Money provides direction for our lives Galatians 6
