For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

For sin will have no dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace.

Therefore we were buried with him through baptism into death, so that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life.

And do not present your members to sin as instruments of unrighteousness, but present yourselves to God as alive from the dead, and present your members to God as instruments of righteousness.

For we know that our old self has been crucified with him so that the body of sin might be done away with, and we might no longer be enslaved to sin.

So you also must consider yourselves to be dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

What then shall we say? Should we continue in sin so that grace may abound? Certainly not! How can we who have died to sin still live in it?

Do you not know that when you present yourselves to someone as obedient slaves, you are slaves of the one whom you obey, either of sin leading to death, or of obedience leading to righteousness?

But thanks be to God that, though you were slaves of sin, you have become obedient from the heart to the pattern of teaching to which you were entrusted, and having been set free from sin, you have become slaves to righteousness.
