About this Title:
Northern Sotho is the home language of about 4,2 million people in South Africa. The translation of the Bible into Northern Sotho was first undertaken by the missionaries of the Berlin Missionary Society. The pioneer translator was Pastor JFC Knothe. After his death in 1892 the translation work was continued by G Trümpelmann and H Kuschke assisted by A Serote and G Eiselen. The first complete Bible appeared in 1904. This translation was revised in 1951 and received a new orthography in 1986. Please visit www.biblesociety.co.za. to order a printed copy of this Bible.
