When the work seems useless and a waste of time...get ready to be blessed.
A man wanted to work as a missionary but he developed a medical condition that prevented him from doing this. Even in church he was so weak all he could do was pour the grape juice for communion at his local church. Eventually he learned to make his own brand of grape juice that became very popular. The man's name was Mr Welch of Welch's grape juice fame. With the millions he earned, he donated much money that promoted missionary work all over the world.
When the preparation seems senseless...prepare to be blessed.
The widow who was about to lose her sons to the creditors did the prep work commanded by Elisha as described in 2 Kings 2:1-4. This prep work permitted her to not only pay off her debt but to have enough left over for her family to live off of.
- Conducting ourselves as Christians, staying true to word of God and working diligently for aim is not senseless.
- When you have done all Hod has commanded you to do to prepare, stand ready for a blessing.
For us preparing means studying the Word of God, preparing for sermons, teaching the Bible, etc. When the direction seems to go nowhere...prepare to be blessed.
Abram didn't understand where he was going but he went in obedience to God's Word and was greatly blessed for it.
Often times we want to move and move fast. We must first ask what God has in store for us (direction must come from God). Then we must take the time to prepare. Then we must proceed with faith and trust that God will not let us enter into doors He has not opened. The direction may not always be clear to us.
Exercise: Can you list 5 blessings that God has given you today? Can you do this in 90 seconds?
