Early in the morning, while it was still dark, he got up, departed, and went to a deserted place where he prayed.

Jesus said to them, “Y’all come follow me, and I will make y’all into fishers of humans.” Immediately they left their nets and followed him.

The people were astonished at his teaching, for he taught them as one having authority, not like the scribes.
