Cultivating The Giving Grace II.

You grow in the giving grace by your understanding of two fundamental truths. First is God’s sufficiency and stewardship. These two revelations are vital to a giving life.

To cultivate a strong giving grace, you must know and be fully persuaded that God is your sufficiency, not your salary. The reason many Christians struggle to give is because they have replaced God with their streams of income. So they are enslaved to their salary. This is why they can’t prosper outside their fixed salary and the reason they always struggle with giving to the cause of the gospel. Their job limits how much God can accomplish in the kingdom through their finance.

There are a thousand and one ways God can prosper you, your salary is simply a minute fraction out of them. God wants to break you out of overdependence on your salary so you can abound in more good works.

God’s word says our sufficiency is of God. Knowing God as your sufficiency is how you enter into all sufficiency in all things (2 Cor 9:8). You can be delivered from self preservation, scarcity syndrome, fear of poverty by acknowledging God as your sufficiency and acting so with your giving.
