Not only is Jesus a great storyteller, but He is the “Author of Life” (Acts 3:15) and in control of the past, present and future. During His three years of ministry on earth, He often spoke to curious listeners using parables, which have been appropriately described as “small stories containing big truths.” In “Tell Me A Story,” we take a closer look at seven of these parables contained within Matthew 13 to develop a deeper understanding of who Jesus is, who we are and how we have been called to live in this world!

The Passion

As we continue our trek through the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus gives us the answer in the conclusion of chapter 6: “But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” (Matthew 6:33 ESV). In “Seek First”, we’re going to walk through Matthew 6:25–7:11 and take a closer look at four things we’re often tempted to pursue before Jesus. Prayerfully, as we study God’s Word together, our worry will be replaced with a desire to seek Him first!
