When God Doesn't Make Senseნიმუში

Day 7: The Privilege of Communing With God Through Prayer
One of the most breathtaking concepts in all of Scripture is the revelation that God knows each of us personally and that we are in His mind both day and night. There is simply no way to comprehend the full implications of this love by the King of kings and Lord of lords. He is all-powerful and all-knowing, majestic and holy, from everlasting to everlasting. Why would He care about us—about our needs, our welfare, our fears?
For reasons that are impossible to explain, we human beings are incredibly precious to God.
We are invited to walk boldly into His presence at any moment, day or night. He hears the faintest cry of the sick, lonely, the despised of the world. Every one of us is known and loved by Him, despite our imperfections and failures. Truly, the invitation to commune with Him through prayer is a precious expression of the Creator's incomparable love and compassion for humanity.
Just Between You and God
- Faith never goes unchallenged for long. Christians must expect trials. The question is, how will we deal with them when they come? King David gave us the right response by turning to God in prayer. Talking to the Lord and baring his soul often changed David’s perspective. It can do the same for us.
- Some people naturally pray through difficult times. For others, it can be hard to pray in the midst of a painful trial. If you’re struggling to talk to God, start by praying Psalm 23 or The Lord’s Prayer (Matthew 6:9-13). Then take time each day to speak to God and then listen.
Pray These Words
Heavenly Father, thank You for the privilege to come before You in prayer. I’m amazed that You not only hear my words, but You care about my problems. Help me to give You all my trials and pressures, knowing that You have the power to change any situation in Your perfect time. Enable me to rest in You and wait patiently. Amen.

We are not born with a steadfast faith in God. Scripture tells us it is both a gift from Him (Ephesians 2:8) and it must be developed over time (James 1:3). What’s more, the process of growth that God uses can include adversity. Brenen and Morgan Beeler explain that our Father’s plan for maturing us can include personal and family crises.
