Between the Altar and the Father’s Embrace

DAY 6 OF 6

Between the Altar and the Father’s Embrace

Everything begins and ends in the same place — the Father’s presence.
The altar is where you serve; the embrace is where you belong.
A healthy leader learns to move between the two without losing herself in either.
Service without intimacy leads to burnout, and intimacy without obedience leads to stagnation.

Jesus modeled this rhythm perfectly. He poured Himself out among the crowds but always returned to the quiet, hidden place with the Father.

“Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where He prayed.” (Mark 1:35, NIV)

In those moments alone with God, Jesus was reminded of who He was and why He had come.
The same is true for you. The presence of God restores your identity, renews your joy, and redefines your calling.
You were never meant to live at the altar without resting in the Father’s arms.

When ministry flows from communion, it becomes light again.
When the servant remembers she is a daughter, her work becomes worship.
The Lord is calling you back to that sacred space — between the altar and the embrace — where His love makes every burden holy.

Reflection:
Have you allowed your service to replace your intimacy, or are you learning to serve from the safety of His embrace?

About this Plan

Between the Altar and the Father’s Embrace

This is a devotional plan for pastors and leaders who have served tirelessly but now feel weary at heart. Inspired by Pastor Marie Andrade’s message at the Pastors and Leaders Coffee (Expansão Church – Sorocaba), this devotional invites you to rediscover the balance between ministry and intimacy, between calling and rest. Over six days, the Lord will lead you back to the place where burdens turn into His presence, and service flows once again from the love of a daughter, not from the exhaustion of a servant.
