Between the Altar and the Father’s Embrace

DAY 2 OF 6

Do Not Mistake Rejection for Worthlessness

Every leader faces moments when love is misunderstood and service goes unnoticed.
But rejection from people is not rejection from God.
Often, those who wound you do so because they are wounded themselves. Their words and actions reflect their pain, not your value.

Even Jesus experienced rejection. He healed the sick, fed the crowds, loved the broken—and still, He was criticized and betrayed. Yet His response was not bitterness, but intercession.

“Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.” (Luke 23:34, NIV)

When your heart filters pain through Christ’s love, what once poisoned you becomes prayer fuel.
Rejection can redirect your focus—away from human approval and back to divine affirmation.
It’s in those moments that the Shepherd’s voice becomes clearer, reminding you that you are seen, known, and loved.

Reflection:
How do you respond when those you serve fail to understand or value you?

About this Plan

Between the Altar and the Father’s Embrace

This is a devotional plan for pastors and leaders who have served tirelessly but now feel weary at heart. Inspired by Pastor Marie Andrade’s message at the Pastors and Leaders Coffee (Expansão Church – Sorocaba), this devotional invites you to rediscover the balance between ministry and intimacy, between calling and rest. Over six days, the Lord will lead you back to the place where burdens turn into His presence, and service flows once again from the love of a daughter, not from the exhaustion of a servant.
