Choose This Day: Following Christ as a Military Operator

DAY 7 OF 7

The Warrior’s Victory – Living for God’s Glory

At the end of his military career, Joshua stood before the people and issued a final challenge: “Choose this day whom you will serve.” He had led campaigns, conquered cities, and established a nation. But his greatest act of leadership was calling others to surrender—not to him, but to God.

In the military, we’re constantly choosing—assignments, career paths, leadership styles. But beneath all those decisions is a deeper one: Who are we ultimately serving? It’s easy to chase recognition, security, or legacy. But Joshua reminds us that the most important choice isn’t what we do—it’s who we belong to.

Jesus is the greater Joshua. He didn’t just lead people into a promised land—He opened the way to eternal life. His victory wasn’t won with weapons, but with a cross. And now, He calls us to follow Him—not just in belief, but in allegiance. To live for His glory is to live with purpose that outlasts rank, retirement, or reputation.

Application:
Your career will end. Your rank will fade. But your worship echoes into eternity. Choose today to serve the Lord—not just in word, but in every decision, relationship, and ambition. Jesus is worth it.

Reflection:
What does it look like for you to serve the Lord in your current assignment?

About this Plan

Choose This Day: Following Christ as a Military Operator

Military service demands strength, discipline, and sacrifice—but it also calls for spiritual clarity. In this 7-day devotional, Chaplain Marcus Marroquin explores the lives of biblical warriors like David, Joshua, and Samson, revealing how their stories point to Jesus—the ultimate Warrior. Each day addresses real issues soldiers face: moral injury, pride, forgiveness, family priorities, and identity. Through Gospel-centered reflections and military analogies, this plan invites you to surrender your career, character, and calling to Christ. Discover how to follow Jesus faithfully in uniform, and live a life of ordered service, anchored in grace.
