Verse

“For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord as the waters cover the sea.” (Habakkuk 2:14 ESV)

Reflection

Things weren’t going well in Habakkuk’s day, to put it lightly. In a moment of distress, the prophet cried out to the Lord and asked how long He was going to allow such sin, brokenness, and destruction. As God answered him, he also promised that someday, the whole earth will be filled with God’s glory. In other words, God promised that the Great Commission would be accomplished.

That means your efforts are not in vain. Taking part in sharing the gospel is joining an effort that you know will be successful. It’s like joining a team that you already know will win the championship. Someday, everyone will know about Jesus and have the opportunity to accept His gospel, and we have the privilege of playing a part in that.

Remember this

When you share the gospel with others, you are taking part in a victorious battle where Jesus is the winner!

Lord, thank You for the privilege of letting me play a part in Your mission. Amen.
