Bible Verses for Those Struggling to Share the Gospel

DAY 1 OF 8

Verse

“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” (Matthew 28:19–20 ESV)

Reflection

Jesus makes it clear that every believer is called to share the gospel. Jesus calls every believer, from every nation and walk of life. As author Becky Pippert shared on an Indigitous Podcast, “I don’t think a lot of people have the gift of the evangelist, but we’re all called to be witnesses.” If it’s something God calls everyone to do, it’s something that everyone can do, not just those with special skills.

And there’s another piece of encouragement in that verse: Jesus reminds us that He will be with us always. When you share the gospel, you’re not doing it through your own power. Take a moment to acknowledge this truth. It is God himself helping you. This removes any pressure you might feel when sharing your faith.

Remember this

Be confident in the fact that when you are sharing the gospel, you are never ‘on your own.’ Jesus and the Holy Spirit are always right there with you.

Prayer

Lord, help me to stand on your promise that you are always with me when I step out in obedience and share your good news. Amen.

In this 8-day devotional, you'll find encouragement from scripture, a daily prayer, and a key thought to reflect on as you take a step to reach your world.
