Welcome to 2 Corinthians: When Ministry Gets Messy. This is seen most clearly in Paul's dealings with the so-called "Super Apostles" that had taken over leadership of the church he planted in Corinth. The Super Apostles boasted in their abilities, connections, and power. But Paul showed that, for those in Christ, true power comes in weakness.

Next, we invite you to read a central part of the book of 2 Corinthians. 2 Corinthians 11:16–12:10 shows us that true spiritual strength doesn’t come from boasting in power, status, or success, but from embracing weakness, suffering, and dependence on God. This passage contrasts the arrogant self-promotion of false teachers with Paul’s “foolish” boasting in beatings, hardship, and a thorn in the flesh—ultimately revealing that God’s power is most fully displayed not in strength, but in surrender.
