CALL AND HE WILL RESPOND

"Call to Me and I will answer you and show you great and mighty things, fenced in and hidden, which you do not know, do not distinguish and recognize, have knowledge of and understand." – Jeremiah 33:3, AMPC

For the next 10 days, we will explore this passage further by studying it from the rich word treasury of the Amplified Classic Bible (AMPC).

Do you sometimes desire to really hear God's voice? To know the thoughts of His heart? This is absolutely possible! There is a requirement, however, that is also explained in James 4:8—"Draw near to God and He will draw near to you." God is waiting for you to "call upon Him". It is similar to when you want to tell someone something. First, you will call them by their name to draw their attention. The Lord is saying, Call to Me and I will answer you!

The "call to Me" is an invitation to pray. Calling upon the Lord causes Him to respond! When we pray sincerely and truthfully, He is right there with us, attentive and present. He is both very eager and willing to answer. When last did you "call" on Him? Perhaps He has been waiting for a long time!

Our human limitations never delay His response. He hears even the whisper of a heart turned toward Him. He has so much to share with you – secret things of His heart about your life and about Himself. He is saying to you today, "If you 'call', I will not only answer, but I will also 'show' you great and mighty things." Things that are not obvious. Secrets from His heart, especially prepared for you to know.

Consider your walk with the Lord today. He is inviting you to accept this invitation right now, today. If you can consider pausing for a while and set your heart and mind towards Him in prayer, to focus on Him alone and set aside all other distractions, He will begin to speak to you. He will speak to you in your heart, in your thoughts and in many other ways.

PRAY

Father of glory, I love You so much. Today I choose to say "yes". I am calling upon Your name right now. I want to know You more, to love You more and to honor You more with my life. Hear my CRY rising before Your throne of grace.
