Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year Twoნიმუში

Though you ascend as high as the eagle, and though you set your nest among the stars, from there I will bring you down (Obadiah 4 NKJV).
Why do the wicked seem to be sheltered from God’s wrath?
The tiny Book of Obadiah conveys a big message: God will eventually bring down the arrogant. The Edomites, descendants of Esau, had settled in a secure terrain, believing themselves invincible. However, the Almighty reached them. As the wicked Edomites committed violence against the Israelites, God demonstrated that “vengeance is Mine, I will repay” (Romans 12:19 NKJV). Later, the nation fell as the prophet foresaw.
Take to heart the words of Proverbs 16:18 (NKJV), which say, “Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall.” The arrogant cannot indefinitely evade God’s wrath.
Employment Point: God’s vengeance topples the arrogant in His perfect timing.
