He mocks proud mockers but shows favor to the humble and oppressed. The wise inherit honor, but fools get only shame.

Toward the scorners he is scornful, but to the humble he gives favor. The wise will inherit honor, but fools get disgrace.

The LORD mocks the mockers but is gracious to the humble. The wise inherit honor, but fools are put to shame!

He mocks those who mock but gives grace to the humble.  The wise will inherit honor, but he holds up fools to dishonor.

GOD’s curse blights the house of the wicked, but he blesses the home of the righteous. He gives proud skeptics a cold shoulder, but if you’re down on your luck, he’s right there to help. Wise living gets rewarded with honor; stupid living gets the booby prize.

Although he is scornful to arrogant scoffers, yet he shows favor to the humble. The wise inherit honor, but he holds fools up to public contempt.
