Nakon ovih događaja, protiv Jošafata su zaratili Moapci i Amonci te s njima i neki od Meunjana. Neki su ljudi došli i rekli Jošafatu: »Ogromna vojska ide na tebe iz Edoma. Dolaze s one strane Mrtvog mora. Već su u Haseson Tamaru!« (Taj grad zvao se i En Gedi.) Jošafat se uplašio. Molio je BOGA za vodstvo. Proglasio je post u čitavoj Judi. Svi su se Judejci okupili da traže pomoć od BOGA. Iz svih su judejskih gradova došli tražiti BOGA.
