WRITE IT DOWN

Taking time to reflect, pray, and listen for God’s heart concerning the coming year is a powerful way to begin. It brings clarity to your past, presence to your present, and purpose to your future.

Habakkuk 2:1-3 (AMPC) gives us a blueprint: " [Oh, I know, I have been rash to talk out plainly this way to God!] I will [in my thinking] stand upon my post of observation and station myself on the tower or fortress, and will watch to see what He will say within me and what answer I will make [as His mouthpiece] to the perplexities of my complaint against Him. And the Lord answered me and said, Write the vision and engrave it so plainly upon tablets that everyone who passes may [be able to] read [it easily and quickly] as it hastens by. For the vision is yet for an appointed time and it hastens to the end [fulfillment]; it will not disappoint. Though it tarry, wait [earnestly] for it, because it will surely come; it will not be behindhand on its appointed day."

Writing down what God reveals anchors your heart. It gives you something to return to when circumstances feel contrary to the promise. It becomes a tool for prayer, declaration, and focus.

You might even display it visually—as a reminder to yourself and a testimony to others of what God is doing.

John 16:12-15 (MSG) adds depth: "I still have many things to tell you, but you can't handle them now. But when the Friend comes, the Spirit of the Truth, he will take you by the hand and guide you into all the truth there is. He won't draw attention to himself, but will make sense out of what is about to happen and, indeed, out of all that I have done and said. He will honor me; he will take from me and deliver it to you. Everything the Father has is also mine. That is why I've said, 'He takes from me and delivers to you.'

The Holy Spirit doesn’t just reveal glimpses of the future—He walks with you, guiding you step by step. He makes Jesus real and empowers you to live out what’s been revealed.

Prayer:

Holy Spirit, thank You for revealing the Father’s heart and making Jesus real to me. Thank You for walking with me into the coming year, one step at a time. Help me to hold onto Your vision and respond with faith. Amen.
