The Road Home: Reflections of a Prodigal

DAY 2 OF 15

For the next several days, we are going to focus on the word "repent." Thinking back to the journey of our Prodigal Son (and our prodigal selves), why is repentance so valuable?

The word "repent" means to turn around, to think differently, to change one’s mind. It involves a turning away from our sin and a turning towards God and His ways.

When is the last time you were "cut to the heart" by something you heard? What was it, and how did it change you?

Read through the passage again.

Peter gave them specific ways to demonstrate their “turning around,” or their repentance.

In your own life, what has repentance looked like for you?

How have you seen your actions change?

About this Plan

The Road Home: Reflections of a Prodigal

Jesus tells the parable of the Prodigal Son to a crowd of tax collectors and sinners, the unsavory people of that time. The Pharisees stand by in judgment. As we read together, we will explore the themes of repentance, returning, and rejoicing. Hopefully, we will be challenged and encouraged as we reflect on our own seasons and events that draw us back towards the Father – only to find Him running towards us!
