More Than Words - the Transforming Power of Prayerનમૂનો

How to Pray
It is surprising to me how many people do not seem to understand prayer. Prayer is simply a two-way conversation between us and God. We should talk to God and then listen as He speaks to us through His Holy Spirit and His Word. It is not something that you leave for someone else to do. The Bible tells us in I Thessalonians 5:17 that we should “Pray continually." In other words, we should be in a constant state of prayer. Our conversation with God should happen all day long.
Jesus gave us an example of how to pray in Matthew 6:5-13 and Luke 11:1-4. He warned the disciples not to be like hypocrites who pray so that they can be seen and heard by men. Instead, He tells them in Matthew 6:6 that they should close their door and pray in secret. After all, our prayers are not to other humans, but to God.
I have always thought that two of the most powerful words a person can pray are “thank you." It is important to come to God with an attitude of gratitude for all that He has done for you. I like to start by thanking Him and praising Him for His goodness.
You are probably familiar with “The Lord’s Prayer.” It is found in Matthew 6:9-13 and Luke 11:1-4. He starts by addressing God as “Father.” He then honors Him by saying that His name is holy. Jesus teaches us to humble ourselves by submitting to God’s will on earth and in heaven. He then teaches us that we should ask for our daily bread, forgiveness of our sins, and deliverance from temptation and evil.
The most important thing about prayer is that it needs to be done in faith. You must truly believe that God hears you and that He will answer your prayers according to His will and in His timing.
Ask Yourself:
How much time do I spend in prayer every day? Am I honoring God by talking to Him and asking for His help throughout the day?
