Love God Greatly - Psalm 119

DAY 29 OF 54

The Bible is the divinely inspired Word of God. It is food for our souls. The Word of God is described as a sword that penetrates the hearts of its readers. The Bible is not to be read just as a book of history or as a novel of meaningful stories and characters. It is the Living Word of which our very lives depend upon. Reading and obeying the Word of God gives us God’s power and God’s fruit in our lives as He speaks to us and guides us through it. Do you treat the Bible as your necessary food? Do you read the Bible with as much zeal and excitement as you read your email, Facebook, text messages, or a great novel? Do you truly believe that the Word of God has the power to transform lives, to heal broken hearts, to fix broken lives? If you say you do believe this, then what keeps you from reading the Word like your life depended on it? Father God, You are our Heavenly Father who breathed life into Your Word so that we may know You intimately. Thank You for the honor and privilege of being born in a country with religious freedom, free accessible bibles, a church on every corner, Christian television shows and radio, thousands of free bible studies available by internet and mobile apps. Never let me take access to You and Your Word for granted. Make me a good steward of Your Word using it to encourage, uplift, and gently correct others with love. Remove any distractions or obstacles that hinder me from daily Bible reading.. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

About this Plan

Love God Greatly - Psalm 119

Woven throughout this longest chapter of the Bible are beautiful character qualities of Scripture, reminding us that God’s Word is sufficient, truthful, pure, authoritative, and unchanging. But when we look to God himself – we see how his character is reflected in this chapter as well. This Bible study gives us a glimpse into the beauty, importance, and usefulness of Scripture, prompting us to walk away more in love with God and his Word, more aware of our sin, and more in awe of our great Savior and his sacrifice on our behalf.
