How great thou art: Mickey Connolly; Gods love Pt. I
Socity at large plays this gamee of "he loves me, he loves me not." It's either he loves me or he hates me.
Understanding how much god loves us gives us joy, peace, enables us to trust, inspires us to obey, inspires us to love others, and further glory in God.
Love is inherent in the nature of God. Throughout all eternity the Father, Spirit , and son have loved each other. His love iis always spoken about of people. God was perfectly content with the unity of the father, spirit, and son. With God he has no self-interest in us. He shows and expresses his love actively. God's love is affectionate. God does not "fall in love" with us. God's love is universal
God loves all, even his enemies. The perfection of God's love includes his enemies. God loves even those that deserve his wrath. God desires all to be saved. It is not only right but it is necessary for us to tell sinners of the love of Christ. It isn't that God doesn't live sinners but sinners don't love God. JESUS LOVES THEM more than we can ever comprehend.
God gracciously chooses some although all of our hearts are turned against God. The better question isn't "why doesn't god save all?" but "why did God save me?" Election keeps ko one out of heaven who would have been there otherwise. Without election heaven would be empty.
