It is easy to glaze over many of Jesus' foreshadowing comments because we just say he is God and so he says crazy things, which are true but cannot be understood from an earthly perspective. Without context these questions are bizarre.
1) WHY DID JESUS COME TO EARTH?
His teaching would have a much greater impact after his death. At its very core Christianity is the only religion & philosophy that is rational. Prior think it's irrational because they don't want to submit to God and because there's is no way there's anything outside of humanity.
Without a God you have to replace him with people which let us down.
If Jesus did come, he was going to start a revolution.
Communism comes from a warped teaching of Jesus' teaching.
Moral revolution: The End it movement is an example. Jesus did not come to Earth for a purely moral revolution. Jesus was not just about a cause. He wants us to live for him, giving us the power for great causes.
JESUS CAME TO REDEEM SINNERS AND TAKE THEM TO HEAVEN BY DYING FOR THEIR SINS
It's more than that! This is a truncated view because it says that his life was meaningless. Jesus wanted us to see how to live a life for him, by his example.
Jesus life was building somewhere and accomplished something.
WHAT DID JESUS COME TO DO?
TO ESTABLISH GOD'S KINGDOM ON EARTH
Through his death and resurrection, His kingdom came, & is here currently. His life typified what it means to live in the kingdom. He was the perfect example and fulfilled all that meant to live in they kingdom of God.
Christians should care about politics.
Christians should care about morality.
Christians should be deeply impacted by the death, resurrection, and ascension of Christ, because these are the means by which we are saved and our into God's new kingdom.
Jesus inaugurated an entirely new way of life. His kingdom came from heaven, but it did not stay there. It came to us. Our life is always meaningful when we are in the kingdom of God. Every hope and dream we have is fulfilled in the kingdom of God.
Jesus came to establish a new kingdom. This new kingdom is coming.
We all experience emptiness, Christians and non-Christians. However, if we NOW live in the kingdom of God, it will change how we view everything. When we become immersed we find true freedom, and don't want to go back, because of the immense joy.
