Bringers: Bring it home!

Acts 2:44-47
Now all who believed were together, and had all things in common, and sold their possessions and goods, and divided them among all, as anyone had need. So continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart, praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved.

The members of the New Testament Church:

1. Were unified.

“Now all who believed were together, and had all things in common…” (v. 44)

2. Served one another.

“… and sold their possessions and goods, and divided them among all, as anyone had need.” (v.45)

John 13:34-35
A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.

3. Met in large group meetings.

“So continuing daily with one accord in the temple…” (v. 46)

4. Met in small groups.

“… and breaking bread from house to house, they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart…” (v. 46)

Small Groups provide three things:

1. A place to CONNECT.

“At Crossroads, we believe our church must grow LARGER and SMALLER at the same time.”

2. A place to PROTECT.

3. A place to GROW.

“Life Change happens in the context of RELATIONSHIPS!”

5. Worshiped God together.

“… praising God and having favor with all the people.” (v. 47)

6. Welcomed new believers into the family.

Matthew 12:46-50
While Jesus was still talking to the crowd, his mother and brothers stood outside, wanting to speak to him. Someone told him, “Your mother and brothers are standing outside, wanting to speak to you.” He replied to him, “Who is my mother, and who are my brothers?” Pointing to his disciples, he said, “Here are my mother and my brothers. For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother.”
