Whether you are NEW online or visiting one of our campuses, we would love to get a chance to know you.
Conversation Starters help us dig deeper, connecting Sunday’s sermons with our Monday lives. These prompts have been designed to help Community Groups grow in their relationship with God, with one another, and with their neighbors. Please know that these questions are meant to be a resource to you. You do not have to follow them verbatim or get through them all. We trust you to know your group and to ask the questions based on your group needs.

1) What stood out to you in the sermon?

2) In verse 5 David referred to his attackers as those who “injure his cause” or “tarnish his reputation.” How have your fears and anxieties affected the way others view you, or the way you view yourself?

3) Reid shared that peace is not the absence of fear, but the presence of God. How does this change the way you understand and respond to your fears? What are practical ways you have sought to live in God’s presence in your Monday life?

4) How does the empathetic nature of God influence the manner in which you approach and practice prayer?

Prayer Requests

As a staff it is a privilege to pray for our congregation. Social distance does not change that! If you are in need of prayer click the link to fill out an online prayer request.
Title: Restore My Peace
Scripture: Psalm 56
Speaker: Reid Kapple,
>> Peace is not the absence of fear, but the presence of God
“Fear isn’t only the terror we feel at the announcement of life threatening news or the threat of physical pain or harm. It is also the everyday uncertainty that gnaws at us...Fear is our response to uncertainty about our resources in the face of danger, when we are assaulted by a force that overwhelms us...Our lives are a spectacle of helplessness.” - Allender and Longman, The Cry of the Soul
>> Peace is found when…
- Our fears are named
- Our tears are seen
- Our God is for us

“We can doubt the value, power and sincerity of our own asking, but not God’s hearing...With a deep awareness that the God who speaks life into us also listens when we speak...We assemble our fears and hopes, apprehensions and anticipations, and place them on the altar as an offering.” - Eugene Peterson, Answering God
