Sometimes to fix a problem you need to hit RESET.

When Jesus entered Jerusalem he came on a mission… He came to perform A Divine Reset… A restoration of the original Divine Intent

Jesus doesn’t move according to our wants, He moves according to our needs

Note Three Things About Jesus' entrance

1) Jesus’ Response

Vs 11 “And he entered Jerusalem and went into the temple. And when he had looked around at everything, as it was already late, he went out to Bethany with the twelve.”

Jesus never ran, he walked

That night Jesus likely interceded till morning
- It was his custom (Lk 22:39)
- It fits his character (John 5:19)
- It is Biblical Wisdom (Eph 4:26)

Eph 4:26 Be angry and do not sin; do not let the sun go down on your anger,

2) Jesus’ Righteous Anger

Vs 15 And they came to Jerusalem. And he entered the temple and began to drive out those who sold and those who bought in the temple, and he overturned the tables of the money-changers and the seats of those who sold pigeons. 16 And he would not allow anyone to carry anything through the temple.

He entered that the temple as:
A Son - Righteous Anger for what was being done in his Father's house
A Prophet - Righteous Anger for how religion was robbing the people
A King - With Righteous Anger, he took authority in the house to set people free

Enmity - state of feeling or being actively opposed or hostile to something

Gen 3:15 I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and her offspring; he shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise his heel.”

- Never point Enmity towards people
- Never direct Enmity towards God
- Use Enmity in its proper place, look the enemy square in the eyes and crush his head

3) Jesus’ Rebuke

7 And he was teaching them and saying to them, “Is it not written, ‘My house shall be called a house of prayer for all the nations’? But you have made it a den of robbers.

Jesus showed up that day… to begin a divine reset

At the beginning of the week he cleared the temple, at the end of the week, he would tear the veil and end the separation

Final Thought

He is uprooting every idol, every hinderance. He has placed the ark of his presence in your home for the time being. How will you make the most of this moment? How will you host His presence?

Questions:

Make a list of the idols, obstacles, hindrances that this season has turned over. What opportunities does that present for you to experience the greater life Christ promises?

What does the phrase, "Jesus never ran, He walked," mean for you? How can you better respond to the current crisis you are walking through?

Enmity is a God given emotion that we use to confront and crush the enemy. Consider the times in the past you pointed that anger in the wrong direction. What mistakes were made, and how can you learn from those? Make another list of the things that the enemy has stolen or sought to destroy. How should enmity embolden you to pray?

Today you are hosting the presence, not in a sanctuary, but in your home. How will you make the most of this moment? How will you experience the blessing of Obed Edom in your house?

This Weeks 714 Prayer

Pastors, leaders, churches, and individuals from around the globe are joining together — with one heart, one voice, and one prayer — to see the COVID-19 halted, lives healed, hardships mitigated, people come to Christ, and an outpouring of God’s Spirit.

Thousands of churches are joining in one united prayer during church services. Untold thousands of believers are also praying the same prayer at 7:14 each morning and night.

The Prayer

Lord, we come to you in prayer today, believing the promise in 2 Chronicles 7:14: that if we humble ourselves, pray, and turn from our wicked ways, You will hear our prayer and heal our lands. Our community, nation, and world are in desperate need of Your help, comfort, and healing power. Lord, we ask You to forgive us for turning our hearts away from You. Hear our cry today as we join with the Body of Christ around the world to stand together against the COVID-19 crisis.

Lord, strengthen our minds and emotions with the truth that You are greater than COVID-19. Your righteousness protects our hearts from despair. Your Word enables us to walk through this crisis in peace.

Although this is a physical disease, as believers, we know the enemy wants to take advantage of this moment. Together, we stand in faith against the powers of darkness in this “evil day.” We put on the “whole armor of God” and stand firm on the promises of Your Word!

With Your armor, we stand protected from the fiery darts of panic and fear. We take up the shield of faith on behalf of our families, our churches, our cities, our nation, and the nations of the world. The hope of salvation is our battle helmet.

We declare the promise in Your Word, that no weapon formed against us will prosper. Therefore, we pray in faith that COVID-19 will be eradicated, panic will stop, and God’s power will fill the earth.

We humbly ask all these things in the powerful name of our Lord, Jesus Christ. Amen!
