Romans 8:31 CSB
31 What then are we to say about these things? If God is for us, who is against us?
I. WE KNOW THAT GOD IS FOR US BECAUSE OF WHAT HE’S DONE FOR US
Romans 8:26-30 CSB
26 In the same way the Spirit also helps us in our weakness, because we do not know what to pray for as we should, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with unspoken groanings. 27 And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because he intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.
28 We know that all things work together for the good of those who love God, who are called according to his purpose. 29 For those he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, so that he would be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. 30 And those he predestined, he also called; and those he called, he also justified; and those he justified, he also glorified.
II. LIFE IS HARD BECAUSE WE DO HAVE FORCES AGAINST US
Judges 6:12-13 CSB
12 Then the angel of the Lord appeared to him and said: “The Lord is with you, valiant warrior.”
13 Gideon said to him, “Please, my lord, if the Lord is with us, why has all this happened? And where are all his wonders that our fathers told us about? They said, ‘Hasn’t the Lord brought us out of Egypt?’ But now the Lord has abandoned us and handed us over to Midian.”
III. BECAUSE GOD US FOR US, NOTHING OR NO ONE CAN THWART HIS ETERNAL PLAN FOR US
1. We need to reason out and rest upon what the Scripture says is true (see v. 31a).
2. When God is for you, He is for you forever.
3. Is God for YOU? He is for all who have come to Christ and against all who have not.
