"God Fights Our Battles"
When Our Eyes Are Open - Part 1
Kyle Ray
March 22, 2020

1. Overwhelming odds are always an opportunity for great faith. (8-14)

2. What we see at first glance is not the full picture. (15-16)

3. We always have an option to choose hospitality over hostility. (18-23)

Thought of the Week:
When our eyes are open spiritually, our response is counter-cultural.
Small Group Questions

• In 2 Kings 6, Elisha received direct insight from God that was helpful to the king of Israel. What has been your experience with hearing the voice of God?

• Elisha was surrounded by an enemy, but he chose faith over fear. There is a popular phrase in Christianity that reads, “Let your faith be bigger than your fear.” Why is it difficult at times to choose faith over fear. Discuss as a group the times when you have had to choose faith over fear.

• Why do you think God led Elisha to demonstrate hospitality to his enemies rather than hostility?

• The theme of open eyes runs throughout this passage. Discuss as a group some of your own eye opening experiences that have shaped your life.
